Resiliency children deal with adversity

Resiliency children deal with adversity ? Life is not a question of organizing the cards well, but also play a bad hand. ? Robert Louis StevensonResiliency, or the ability to? Bounce back? adversity and challenge, is a feature (or perhaps a set of skills) that I am sure all of us as consultants, parents and / or educators, hope to encourage our children, our students, our customers and even in us. We know that the rubber band is required for obtaining a perspective, move forward, and setbacks to overcome. Without flexibility, an unfortunate incident, accident or loss may lead to the task, leaed helplessness, hopelessness, and lack of social integration interest.Whenever I think its elasticity, it can be? T help but think of my experiences as proof of juvenile delinquency and the number of children, which I then lived in unspeakable conditions and in most cases, dysfunctional. Among the many terribly troubled children in the system, there was always some surprise that defendant, despite their living conditions and family dysfunction, to ask me if they have the strength to cope in a world which they must have seemed terribly unfair difficult.Just and why some children from large families, illness and lea many of life? s lessons the hard way, there are also many children, disruption and despair, which makes it in some way, and somehow survived surprisingly well? despite the poverty, the difficulties, families criminals, lack of education, and a lack of moral values and social or role models. I often ask myself, in my years of working with some of the most troubled young people in the city, what is their secret was. What was the possibility that a child is able to cope, to overcome the problems, his life around, and respecting the social norms, if someone else from a similar background could? T seems to be able to put together? Fortunately, much has been done research on the topic of flexibility, and Tucson is a leader in the Resiliency Movement. The Tucson Resiliency Initiative (TRI) is? The basis for work on the promotion of flexibility? (TRI site, Introduction to stability? From Katie Frey, Ph.D., (research in this area have common characteristics, the child is successful? Against the quota. These protective factors include many features that can be developed using the principles that we lea from Adlerian psychology as in nature, including the promotion, respect and conce for society. In his article, Dr. Frey lists of elastic properties, such as those who are the children? self-employed, independent, self-controlled , hope, and with an inteal control, and a sense of purpose. What we can do for these qualities to promote and create an environment for our children that is condusive to resilience?. For to know elasticity, it can be help, access to resources for the satisfaction of basic needs, access to positions of leadership, opportunities for decision making and participation in community life. Other suggestions by Dr Frey are the creation of an environment in which an unconditional acceptance by at least one other person, with clear and enforced boundaries, promote social values, estimating an individual? unique talents, and creating and maintaining a positive climate of the school with teachers and adults that positive I am really care.So as the school year begins, and many of us again (or continue) our efforts to encourage the world and a tough, remember that the most important thing you can do in the life of a child is to love them and or opportunities for growth and reliency.
